At MoneyTrakr, your privacy is our top priority. Our business model is simple: we provide a high-quality money tracking service for a flat fee. We do not sell your personal information, your financial data, or your habits to third parties. We don't rely on advertising, which means we have no incentive to "monetize" your data.

2. Financial Data Handling

We take a unique approach to financial data to maximize your security and keep you in control:

• No Bank Credentials: We never ask for or store your bank login details. You maintain complete control by downloading your transaction files directly from your institution and importing them into MoneyTrakr.
• AI-Assisted Categorization: To improve your experience, we use automated AI services to suggest transaction categories. Only non-identifiable transaction descriptions and amounts are shared with secure third-party AI providers for the sole purpose of categorization. This data is processed securely and is not used by these providers to train their machine learning models.
• You Own Your Data: Your financial information is yours. We do not share, sell, or rent your data to any third parties for any reason.
• Right to Delete: You have full control over your data. You can delete individual transactions or your entire account and all associated data at any time through your settings. Once deleted, the data is permanently removed from our active systems.

3. Information We Collect

We only collect the information necessary to provide our service:

• Account Information: Name and email address required for account creation and communication.
• Financial Data: The transaction data you choose to upload for tracking purposes. Our system is designed to store only transaction rows (Date, Description, Amount, Category).
• What We DON'T Store: We do not store bank passwords, full bank account numbers, full debit/credit card numbers, or your physical address.
• Third-Party Providers: We utilize Stripe as our payment processor to manage secure subscription payments. Stripe handles all payment processing directly; we do not see, process, or store your credit card details or bank account numbers on our servers.
• Usage Data: We use Google Analytics on the public portions of our website (such as the home page and this privacy policy) to help us understand how visitors find us.

4. Analytics & Tracking

We use "cookies" (small text files stored on your computer) to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. Our use of Google Analytics on public pages collects non-identifiable information such as browser type, referring site, and the date/time of each visitor request. This helps us improve our marketing efforts.

Private Area Isolation: We maintain a "Tracking-Free Zone." Once you log in to your dashboard, Google Analytics and all other third-party tracking scripts are completely removed. We use only essential session cookies to keep you logged in and securely access your private data.

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Your Legal Rights (US & International)

Depending on your location (e.g., California, EU), you may have the following rights regarding your data:

• Right to Access/Portability: You can export all your transaction data via the Settings page at any time into a standard format (like CSV).
• Right to Deletion: You can trigger an account deletion from your settings. Please note that we utilize a 7-day grace period (a "soft delete") in case you change your mind. After this 7-day period, your account and transaction data are permanently scrubbed from our active databases. This data may remain in our encrypted, inaccessible system backups for an additional 30 days before being completely overwritten.
